Bergey WindPower is a pioneer of home wind power technology, with 30 years experience designing and manufacturing wind turbines. In an often volatile industry, Bergey WindPower stands out as a company you can rely on to maintain support for their products for decades to come.
The BWC Excel 6 has a peak power output of 6.7kW in 16.5m/s (36.9mph) winds, enabling owners to reduce or eliminate their monthly electric bill in locations all over the world (depending on your individual electric usage, and your local wind conditions). The Excel 6 is one of two Bergey turbines (out of 9 total) to be certified by the Small Wind Certification Council (SWCC), documenting that it meets performance and safety standards established by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). With an industry-leading 10 year warranty, a Bergey Excel turbine is one of the safest investments you can make in a renewable energy system.
To order a complete turbine kit, simply select the best tower size for your installation location. The turbine should ideally be installed high enough that surrounding buildings or trees will not interfere with wind flow to the turbine. (You may also order a turbine without a tower, if you have sourced an appropriate tower elsewhere. See link below for requirements.)

From the manufacturer:
Smaller, more efficient homes Connected to the grid, the Bergey Excel 6 can provide most of the electricity for smaller, more efficient homes that use less electricity than the average-sized home. The 6 kW Powersync II inverter is the most advanced in the industry and it carries a full UL certification to the latest utility standards. Small wind systems qualify for a 30% Federal Tax Credit, making them an even more affordable investment.
Smaller, more efficient farms and businesses The Excel 6’s extra large rotor and ultra low cut-in wind speed make it an exceptional performer and a wise investment for smaller, more efficient farms and businesses. Grants are available for agricultural producers and rural small businesses through the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program. Small wind systems also qualify for accelerated depreciation, making it more affordable than ever for businesses to offset their electricity costs.
